Seattle based Sasson tastefully integrates traditional Jewish music with contemporary forms from around the world. "We strive for an innovative sound that is both modern and in touch with what is happening in the arts today, while remaining true to the roots of Jewish music." Drawing on elements from a wide array of Yiddishkeit including Klezmer, Chassidus, Carlebach, Mizrachi and Ladino (Middle Eastern) music; and adding an occasional touch of Samba or Cumbia, Sasson brings a refreshingly new approach to traditional melodies from around the Jewish world.
As an ensemble, Sasson can be hired to perform in several modalities:
- We have a large repertoire of traditional Jewish music, including Klezmer, Israeli folk songs, and Chassidic rock (often used for weddings, b'nai mitzvoth, holidays and other simchas).
- We have a repertoire of modern music (Samba, Reggae, Funk etc) which draws on traditional songs as well as original material (used for clubs and parties).
- We have a family-friendly repertoire of children's music.
Sasson can perform as either an acoustic or amplified ensemble according to your preference.
